Forest Midnight Comet
Balmy Acres presents Forest Midnight Comet, aka. "Diesel", our 2006 blue roan tobiano stallion. This exquisite, and incredibly talented stallion has competed in the 2010 & 2011 APHA World Show in Fort Worth, TX. In 2011, Diesel garnered two Top Ten's in Junior Reining and has earned World Show Champion and Reserve World Champion titles in Junior Working Cow Horse. His docile disposition, great work ethic, and outstanding athleticism allow him to really shine in the arena! We have high hopes for a great future for this stallion and his offspring! Check out his gorgeous filly, FM Forever Grateful, aka. "Margarita", out of our champion mare, Baileyboonemccue! She is awesome!

Rita Bryant & Zee Zee Zip
One of our most cherished boarders, who is truly part of the Balmes family, is our beloved friend, Rita Bryant! To us, she's known as "Awnie", as our son dubbed her when he was just a toddler! For many years, Rita rode our appaloosa gelding, Chico, until he passed away at the ripe old age of 29! Now, Rita is the proud owner of the most handsome paint gelding, Zee Zee Zip, aka. "Zip". Together, they have enjoyed many a leisurely trail ride, and continue to establish a trusting team! Rita loves to ride for the sheer enjoyment she shares with Zip!
Maria Pirozzi & Speaking Of Angels
Speaking Of Angels aka "Halo" is enjoying the good life at Balmy Acres and has found a special friend in Maria. She and Halo share a special bond and a kinship. Rescued straight from a kill-pen as a young colt he has made unbelievable progress at Balmy Acres. He and Maria made a great debut under saddle at the local shows.
Katie Tripp & Miss Foxy N Blue
Miss Foxy N Blue "Bunny", is proudly owned by Katie Tripp. Katie and Bunny compete at various events, overcome hurdles, and accomplished many goals. Katie enjoys the versatility and personality of this wonderfully talented mare. They are becoming quite a team and it is a pleasure to watch their progress both in and out of the show ring. We are looking forward to seeing what this pair can accomplish.
Sheila McCormick & Rebas Shadow
Rebas Shadow and Sheila make a colorful team here at Balmy Acres! This mare is a sweetheart. Sheila is honing her skills in dressage with Reba and eagerly participates in the different events at Balmy Acres.
Charlene Stober & Foxy
Charlene Stober and Foxy Tin Tiara, aka."Foxy", her knock-out pretty, versatile mare make a dynamic pair. They have been working on building a trusting partnership! They can be seen at a number of events including trail riding, parades, and horse shows.
Liz Harju & Barpassers Laddie
Liz and "Whiskey" make a great team. Liz says, "I have waited 20 years to own a horse and couldn't have chosen a better horse than Whiskey. I love that whenever I see him he comes running over to say hi. There is something about him, that when I am having a horrible day, he can make me not think about any problems and make me smile." Liz hopes to compete in horse shows and maybe in the future would love to go to a few AQHA shows with him.
FM Forever Grateful
"Margarita" is Balmy Acres first foal by their own stallion, Forest Midnight Comet. She is the epitomy of PRETTY and is the feminine version of her daddy! No doubt she'll draw lots of attention and turn heads with her color, conformation, and her wonderful personality!
Micaela Murphy & RE Cash Bar
Cash is Micaela's first horse and the result of a lifelong dream that has finally come true. Although Micaela has experienced so many different facets of the horse world, she is appreciating the joys and trials of being a horse owner. As they grow as a team, look for Micaela & Cash on the trails and at area horse shows.
Hadley-Rae
Shown here on Bailey Boone McCue, Hadley has moved onto her third season in the show ring, and loves working with her favorite auntie in lead line classes. It's a joy watching Hadley, Rita, and Zippy!
Karen Quigley & Spyder
Karen and her registered Canadian Warmblood, Ironside aka "Spyder" are a dynamic addition to Balmy Acres. Karen's ever positive attitude, and her 17.2 hand horse, are a most welcomed presence. Spyder commands a lot of attention because of his size, but it's his personality that wins over everyone's hearts. Karen has taught Spyder quite a repetoire of tricks. They truly shine when you see Karen ride him!
Jen Taylor & Suzie
And you thought Balmy Acres was just about paint horses! Well, let us introduce you to Jen Taylor and her gorgeous Morgan mare The Gift, aka. "Suzie"! Jen can be seen driving Suzie around the grounds during what little spare time she can afford! Due to Jen's hectic schedule with her daughter, Erin, Jen's sister, Mindy is most often seen riding this talented mare.
Maria Pirozzi & Calie
This is Maria Pirozzi and her beloved mare, Calie. Maria and Calie have been together for many years. Calie is an OTTB (Off-Track Thoroughbred) who is also a tremendous teacher and Maria's very best friend.
Susan and Kaley Ledwidge and Jingo Tuxedo Gambler
This mother and daughter team enjoy showing their beautiful registered APHA tobiano gelding, "Jingo." Susan and Kaley have shown this gelding at multiple local shows with Balmy Acres team. This artistic duo bring enthusiasm and creativity to the barn!
Danielle Donovan & Just Dandy
Danielle and her OTTB, Dandy, are another team that can be found on the trails and participating in different equine events, including clinics here at Balmy Acres. At the barn with her buddy Dandy, Danielle finds solace from her busy work schedule.
Alyson Brule & Tylans Ultimate Flash
Alyson and "Cameo" are working together to build trust and work on their horsemanship skills. Cameo is a very sweet mare to work with, and it's nice to see Alyson enjoying her beautiful horse.
Dave Camara & Katie Sheehan
If you visit the barn, you will more than likely see one or both of these smiling faces. Dave brings his many years of experience and his sense of humor. Katie's wonderful personality, enthusiasm and positive outlook on life always seem to lighten the mood. If you come in the evening, you'll find her spending some quiet time at the barn.
